A Journey Through Southeast Asia
June last year, I embarked on an incredible adventure through Southeast Asia with a very close friend of mine. Our journey began with a Contiki tour, which was both exciting and a little nerve-wracking for me as an introvert. However, stepping out of my comfort zone turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Exploring Thailand
Our Contiki tour took us through the vibrant and diverse country of Thailand. From the bustling streets of Bangkok & Chiang Mai, Thailand captivated us with its rich culture and warm hospitality. We had the opportunity to visit ancient temples, indulge in delicious street food, and even try our hand at traditional Thai cooking.
Discovering Laos
After our time in Thailand, we crossed the border into Laos, a hidden gem of Southeast Asia. The peaceful atmosphere and stunning natural landscapes of Laos left us in awe. We explored the charming town of Luang Prabang, where we witnessed the breathtaking Kuang Si Waterfalls and took part in a traditional alms-giving ceremony. It was a truly humbling experience.
The Ha Giang Loop in Vietnam
One of the highlights of our trip was the Ha Giang Loop in Vietnam. This scenic motorbike route took us through the remote and untouched beauty of northern Vietnam. We rode through winding mountain roads, passing through picturesque villages and encountering friendly locals along the way. The stunning landscapes of Ha Giang left us speechless and created memories that will last a lifetime.
Our journey through Southeast Asia was an incredible experience that pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to embrace new cultures and experiences. From the bustling streets of Bangkok to the remote mountains of Vietnam, each destination had its own unique charm. I am grateful for the opportunity to have explored this part of the world and can’t wait to plan my next adventure. I can recommend this to anyone to try, don’t think about it just do it.
